Easter, Spring and the Hospital!

Well, we've had another very busy month. I'm very much looking forward to the en of the school year in 2 weeks and getting to spend some time with Adelynn this summer. She continues to amaze me as she grows and learns more each day. Here's what has been going on in our lives over the last few weeks...

Easter

Dying eggs with a toddler is fun!

Looking pretty in her dress

She loved looking for eggs!

Adelynn has really been loving the beautiful spring weather we've been having lately

And an unfortunate trip to the hospital...
A few weeks ago Adelynn was battling a fever for about a week straight. She wasn't eating much and then stopped drinking altogether for about 2 days. She also had an open sore on her chin that had started out looking like a pimple. We went to her doctor, who sent us to the local hospital to get a urine sample (ever tried helping a nurse put a catheter in? NOT FUN). Her urine came back normal so we were sent to Children's Memorial Hospital downtown because her doctor was concerned she had something called Kawasaki's Disease, which can cause heart malfunctions on day 10 (we were on day 8). We started in the ER where she was given an IV and had several tests done. They confirmed in the ER that she had a strep infection which had made its way into her blood and skin (thus the sore on her chin). They hadn't ruled out the Kawasaki's yet, so she was put in isolation on the infectious diseases floor overnight. Luckily, after meeting with the head of the floor, we were assured it was just the strep and sent home the next afternoon. We, of course, brought the camera with...cause who wouldn't want to take pictures of their poor sick child in the hospital?
The contraption they put on her arm in the ER to keep her from tearing the IV out
And the immobilizer they put on her once they realized how strong she is and just how hard she would fight back (this experience did nothing to help with her fear of nurses!)

A very tired mommy after about an hour of sleep...loved having to wear the gowns all the time!

Daddy was pretty tired too, even though he got the better cot

With "Chi Chi"

Her "bubble" crib...Tim thought she was going to be in an actual bubble when we found out she was going to be in isolation
