7 months

I know I say it every month, but I seriously cannot believe I'm the mommy of a 7-month-old! I have no idea how she got this big (well, figuratively speaking!). We went in for her weight check tonight, and she gained 14 ounces in the last 3 weeks...she's now up to 13 lbs. 4 oz. Her doctor was happy with that gain and said she's doing great. She's squealing all the time and getting very close to sitting up by herself. She rolls all over and is getting into everything. Her doctor said she'll be walking soon (and then we're really in trouble!) We had a wonderful first Mother's Day together and we are looking forward to the start of my summer break in 3 weeks. From Mother's Day...

6 months...finally...

We've had an eventful 6th month so far. Adelynn had her first fever, which was a lot harder than I was expecting. She's talking and laughing non-stop now and rolling all over the place. So far we've found her under the coffee table, hugging the TV stand, and she tried to roll across daddy's dinner one night. She also loves faces, and will try to rip your nose off if she can get close enough. Her well baby check up was last week. She is now 12 pounds, 6 ounces (3rd percentile) and 24 inches (10th percentile). Her pedi is not surprised that she is small, but is having us add cereal to her bottles again for extra calories and we're bringing her back in 3 weeks for a weight check. She loves her solids, but he is also having us cut back on those to try to get her to eat more formula.

We finally managed to get her 6 month photo (more like 6 months, 2 weeks!) These also show her new favorite activity, trying to eat her feet.

We took her on her first outing to the park last weekend. She fell asleep as soon as we started walking in the beautiful weather.

Ok, I know I promised an update, but poor Miss Adelynn was really sick on Sunday and Monday...her first fever. Which, of course, sent me into a downward spiral of a full on panic attack. But she is perfect now, feeling much better. Unfortunately, now I'm sick! We still haven't been able to get her 6 month picture with all of this going on, but we'll try to this weekend. She has her 6 month check up tomorrow, so I'll try to post on Friday with her stats. Until then, here are a few new pictures to hold you over...

More Adventures with Solids

So, we gave Adelynn applesauce today and based on her reaction, I'd have to say she liked it! She went into full-on attack mode as soon as the spoon got anywhere near her mouth. It actually reminded me of Camden when he eats! Click here to see a video of her attacking her spoon...

Sorry for the delay in getting these pictures up. Adelynn and I have been enjoying our too short week together. We're also a little tired because Miss Adelynn has decided this week that anytime between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. is an awesome time to wake up and play and that 4:30 a.m. is a perfectly acceptable time to get up for the day!

So, we started sweet potatoes on Sunday and for the most part it went well. She looked slightly alarmed as we strapped her into her bouncer and came at her with a spoonful of weird looking orange goop, but she didn't seem to mind the taste all that much. She hasn't quited figured out what to do with it once it is in her mouth though...she just kind of pushes it around with her tongue. We'll keep trying though.

5 months

It is hard to believe that Adelynn is already 5 months old! She's still just a little peanut though, most people mistake her for a 2- or 3-month-old. She's been very busy this month...she is now rolling over, sleeping on her tummy, and she tried rice cereal for the first time (not a fan!). Her reflux is also getting better and her pedi is hoping we will be able to wean her off her meds this month. I think her torticollis has gotten much better as well, she has almost a 100% range of motion in her neck now! Daddy is happy to report that she spent her first Selection Sunday watching the Gophers get in to the NCAA tourney. She's doing great at daycare and has made lots of friends there, but we're both looking forward to my spring break in 2 weeks to spend some time together!!
